Thought for the day

The Gospel of Christ knows no religion but social, and no holiness but
social holiness. You cannot be holy except as you are engaged in making the
world a better place. You do not become holy by keeping yourself pure and clean
from the world but by plunging into ministry on behalf of the world's hurting
ones.

I read an article about a Perth City church which puts on a meal and some music on Saturday nights which helps not only the homeless but those on a restricted budget who would otherwise not be able to afford any entertainment. It makes a safe place to spend the evening too. The Christian community is also involved in places where the equivalent of Easter break is celebrated, not to preach but to be involved in making it safer.
